Rickey McElroy

RICKEY EUGENE MCELROY JR.

January 19, 1991 - May 24, 2010

Rickey Eugene McElroy Jr., 19, of Hilton Head Island, SC passed away on Monday, May 24, 2010 at his home. He was born on Hilton Head Island, SC on January 19, 1991. He was the son of Rickey McElroy and the late Mickie McDaniels Buck. He completed his freshman year at the University of South Carolina Beaufort and had been accepted to The Citadel. He looked forward to becoming a Naval Aviator. He lettered in wrestling at the Hilton Head High School and ranked second in the State for two years. He was a black belt in martial arts and he loved fishing. He loved his little brother and best friend, Riley. He is survived by his father, Rickey McElroy Sr. of Hilton Head Island, SC; his step-mother, Judy Shaffer of Hilton Head Island, SC; his grandfather, Charles Buck of Bluffton, SC; his brother, Riley McElroy of Hilton Head Island, SC; his sister, Paula (Paul) Hawkes of Bluffton, SC; his godfather, Francis Fong of Atlanta, GA; his uncle, Chris (Wendy) Buck of Bluffton, SC; his niece, Caroline Hawkes and his nephew, Carter Hawkes both of Bluffton, SC. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, May 28, 2010 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton, SC with burial in Low Country Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm, Friday prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton, SC is assisting the family with their arrangements (www.saulsfh.com).

We extend our deepest sympathy to the McElroy family.  Sifu Francis is planning on having a Wing Chun Workshop to benefit the McElroy family with 100% of the proceeds going to the family to help with the funeral expenses.  The workshop will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010.  Please see the SEMINARS section of the website, additional information will be posted soon. 

Please consider either attending this workshop or making a donation to help the family in this time of need.  Every dollar will help.  We will be collecting for the family, and donations can be given to an FFMAA office staff member or mailed to the care of the Francis Fong Academy.  Sifu Francis personally thanks you in advance for your prayers and generosity for this family.

RICHARD KANNADY

October 18, 1976 – September 16, 2009

 

Richard Kannady left us on Wednesday, September 16. All of us at the Francis Fong Martial Arts Academy mourn the loss. Richard was an exceptional martial artist, instructor, student and friend.  As a FFMAA JKD Juniors Instructor, Richard had a positive impact on the lives of our young students.  His strength and courage through his battle with cancer are an inspiration to us all.  He will be greatly missed. We extend our deepest sympathy to Richard’s family.  Richard will always be remembered with love and respect.  May God bless you always.
